Associates: Eurochamp S.A.T. (Coordinator), ASOCHAMP-CTICH, CTIC-CITA

Call: Rural Development Program. Operative Groups.

Schedule: 2018 – 2020

Abstract: The objective of the CHAMPIHEALTH operating group is to prevent losses in the cultivation of La Rioja Mushroom with the aim of reducing the diseases caused by the fungi “wet bubble” and “cobweb”. For this, the members of the group, the company Eurochamp and the technology centers CTICH and CTIC-CITA, will use strategies for selecting the most resistant strains, developing new cultivation and control methods, such as the application of ozone or the use of biological products and/or low toxicity chemicals and the development of prevention and hygiene protocols that reduce the risk of contamination. These strategies will also focus from the point of view of optimizing the quality of the mushroom for processing.

The disease known as “wet bubble” is caused by the fungus Mycogone perniciosa.

The disease known as “cobweb” is caused by the fungus Cladobotryum dendroides.

Results: Ongoing project.
